Stavros Evangelakakis

Stavros already presented himself here (not that any of you doesn’t know him already :-))
Anyway, Stavros has been in Luxembourg since 1987 and started working at Hotel Intercontinental in 1988 and then at Cargolux, where he also played for their squash team. At some point he met Stella and they got their two kids Melina and Alexandros. He’s got a van too, but no dog (yet). Among his other skills he’s very much an audiophile.

Results week 1

First round is over and done with. We had some close matches but unfortunately got the worst of it. Angels 1 as well Angels 2 drew their matches but lost on games. A pity. We saw Danny play his first match for Angels and in the championship. He lost a close match against Marc Schmetz, but really was quite impressive. Well done Danny!
And finally Angels 3 saved our honnor by trashing Arlon 3 4-0. Good!
Next week will bring us more tough games as the first team will meet COM 2, the second team LL 2 and the third team BAST 1.
Richard will probably Smile do some results magic with an Excel sheet, so you can follow your progress throughout the season.
Final word is just to thank our captains for doing a good job with the organisation of the teams!

Marc has joined our club this year. He’s one of the “natives” and has played here for many years most recently for Mondorf Squash Club. He’s is highest ranking Luxembourgish player and he has won numerous national championships. We are happy to have him on bord and look forward to learning a few of the tricks from him Smile!

Fixtures (updated)

The federation hasn’t put up the fixtures on their web site yet, so here are they (excel file).
Bear in mind how you filled in the avalability sheet, that Keith sent around Smile
More interesting updates will be made to the web site in the future.

Jonathan Hill

Jonathan is a long time squash player, but is also into golf and biking (reckless mountain biking!). He is single, works at Bank of Bermuda and has been in Luxembourg for quite some time now. Actually, I haven’t played him in squash, but I reckon his short game in squash is probably as deadly as it is in golf

Keith Darlington

Many of you already know Keith, who has brought us a couple of new members this year. He’s also one of our captains (Richard being the other). He’s relatively young … , married to Tracy and lives (in exile Smile) in France. Have any IT-problems, he’s your man. Apart from playing squash he’s trying hard to improve his golf game.
