Results sheet week 2

Hi, attached (hopefully?!) are the results from this week’s games. ANG1 ran out easy winners but ANG2+3
just failed to beat their opponents. Anyway, some valuable ranking points were gained which is some compensation.
No matches next week but we have reserved 2 courts for training on Monday night, starting at 6.40pm. For
those of you who are not going away, it could be a good idea to try and get a “free” lesson with Nathan. Next matches are on
Wednesday Nov 5th: ANG1 v ARL1, ANG2 v BGL1 and ANG3 v DEX1.
Please check your availability for these games and let Keith or myself know as soon as possible if there are any problems.

Results sheet week 1

results

Well, better late than never! Sorry for the delay…attached is the spreadsheet containing the results of the first week. As you know, the 3rd team got off to a great start and picked up some valuable ranking points on the way. Unfortunately, the 1st and 2nd teams didn’t quite manage to follow the trend but there were some close games so they shouldn’t be too disappointed. See you all at training Monday night !!??

Stavros Evangelakakis

Stavros already presented himself here (not that any of you doesn’t know him already :-))
Anyway, Stavros has been in Luxembourg since 1987 and started working at Hotel Intercontinental in 1988 and then at Cargolux, where he also played for their squash team. At some point he met Stella and they got their two kids Melina and Alexandros. He’s got a van too, but no dog (yet). Among his other skills he’s very much an audiophile.

Monday night training

With the first matches over I believe there is clearly room for additional training. Courts have been booked at Top squash from 6:40 on Monday 20th Oct so look forward to seeing you then.

Please remember Nathan has a busy schedule between now and late November so book your lessons with him as soon as possible. He is away for most of December as well!

Results

Results week 1

First round is over and done with. We had some close matches but unfortunately got the worst of it. Angels 1 as well Angels 2 drew their matches but lost on games. A pity. We saw Danny play his first match for Angels and in the championship. He lost a close match against Marc Schmetz, but really was quite impressive. Well done Danny!
And finally Angels 3 saved our honnor by trashing Arlon 3 4-0. Good!
Next week will bring us more tough games as the first team will meet COM 2, the second team LL 2 and the third team BAST 1.
Richard will probably do some results magic with an Excel sheet, so you can follow your progress throughout the season.
Final word is just to thank our captains for doing a good job with the organisation of the teams!

Marc Thrill

Marc has joined our club this year. He’s one of the “natives” and has played here for many years most recently for Mondorf Squash Club. He’s is highest ranking Luxembourgish player and he has won numerous national championships. We are happy to have him on bord and look forward to learning a few of the tricks from him !
